I'll be cooking a big Thanksgiving dinner for my flat and some friends. I've never basted a turkey in my life before, so if someone could post instructions on that I would be grateful.
Also for from-scratch pancakes.
And pumpkin pie.

What do pancakes have to do with Thanksgiving? There are some other good pancake recipes at that site, including an oatmeal and applesauce pancake that sounded good.
The Butterball site has info on how to cook a turkey. You don't need to baste it.
Do you need a recipe for stuffing?

I should be fine for stuffing, I've already made some of that stuff before.
ReplyDeleteIs the stuffing supposed to be cooked in the turkey?
I'll also be making some corn and mashed potatoes.
The pancakes are a seperate issue.
The turkey will cook faster if it's not stuffed -- plus there's sometimes a danger that the stuffing won't get hot enough inside. We always cooked them separately -- just put the stuffing in a casserole dish. You can cover it for most of the cooking time and take the lid/foil off briefly to brown the top.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. What about gravy? How do we make that?
ReplyDeleteI don't cook or do windows.
